I grew up in a part of the country rich in manufacturing. I have watched as these jobs have disappeared in droves over the course of the last 25 years, creating brain drain from our small communities and the inability to pay for basic needs. Manufacturing is the spine of the U.S. It is what established the U.S.’s economic strength after WW II and allowed for generations of children to have better lives than their parents -- to realize their dreams.
